Yeah he shouldn’t definitely trust the people to just do it for you. It’s not like 80% of these guys are bankrupt within 4 years of exiting the league.

Still an overreaction to this specific incident. He shouldn't have accepted the loan but paid it back. He will most likely be on the field next week. I could give a shit that he isn't good "budgeting"...I would say most athletes aren't lolzz

Apparently he borrowed some money from a friend of his family and paid the money back. What is wrong with that? That's what friends are for. Now it's illegal to borrow money? The NCAA has gone too far.

You mean lost. SOS means nothing if you lose. Go watch the playoffs on TV like your team.
He might be onto something....maybe we should lose to PSu and UM so they are in top 10?

This is the issue at its crux

So Manziel or Josh Rosen (who have loaded parents) can be totally over the top with their cash because their parents have it

But if a guy who comes from a humble background borrows some dough.....well fuck that guy.

One, it’s not the NCAA, you need to take issue with Ohio State for this suspension.

Two, just because he said it is a “friend of the family” doesn’t mean much. I’m sure the agent that paid Reggie Bush to buy a house was a “friend of the family” as well.

If you bought me a house you would be a friend of the family, for sure.

What complete bullshit.

Ohio State does not have the strongest SOS and it’s not even close.

Due to the SOS that Auburn plays I’ve got all the room in the world to talk shit.

Keep dreaming the dream though Cincinnati killer.

You can have the best SOS in the world but when you lose, you lose...either way you still suck

And as DT correctly pointed out had OSU lost to UC and Wisky they'd also be top ten.

Probably better for the Bucks case to have won

Friend of family since he was a little kid? Or a "friend" of the family with ties to tOHSU that became friends with the family his senior year of HS when deciding on which school to go to?

According to him they became a “family friend” just before his freshman year of college.

There are avenues kids can take ( even scholarship athletes ) that are perfectly acceptable in the NCAA rulebook to get loans . This isnt one of them. Its not one of them because if anyone could give an elite athlete a personal loan then agents and boosters would do this all the time and simply claim the loans were paid back even if they werent.

Young couldve got an unsecured bank loan with his draft projection or ( easier ) he couldve got a guarantee backed student loan then simply repaid it in full upon being drafted and signed.

In instances like this its almost certain it wasnt a loan or that it waa paid back as theres no reason to risk eligibility for a loan ( when you can get a loan without risking eligibility ) unless you take the money knowing youre never paying it back

That said hes not missing more than 1 or 2 games as long as they cant prove it wasnt a loan or wasnt paid back ( which is almost impossible )
