They tried Budaj for a full season once before. They ended up with the 3rd pick in the draft. I doubt they want to go through another season like that.

tony granatool and a bunch of injuries can be blamed for that too, but yeah, that wasn't pretty

I doubt the avs go after anyone, management's being too cheap right now and Budaj's good enough to cover for a few weeks

He used to be in the Sharks organization, he's been playing in the Swedish Elite League up until this year. Current nickname is the Calgary Tower (6'5" tall). Played well against the Blue Jackets in his first start this season.

As for Kipper's workload, they're hoping to limit him to 65 games. We'll see.
