Some of the happiest days of my life were traveling with my Dad to see every game these two great coaches squared off against each other. Lincoln/Norman/Bowl Game. It didn't matter. We saw them all. I still wish Nebraska was in the Big XII.

I miss you...

You can't imagine the grief Dad and I got for missing Thanksgivings but the OU/Nebraska game was our traditional game we never missed. We went to a lot of OU games together but the OU/Nebraska game was THE ONE. We'd both be so nervous before kickoff we couldn't stand it. Had some super, super great times in Lincoln with the Nebraska fans win or lose. So one year we took Mom with us to Lincoln. 1986. OU drove 94 yards to score a touchdown with 1:22 left, then raced 51 yards to set up a field goal with six seconds to play to beat the Huskers 20-17. Mom was crying so hard one of the Nebraska fans said "But you won. Aren't you happy?" All Mom could do was blubber "yes". Mom had been sick for awhile and she never got to go see OU play again before she passed away.
