There is no president of any college in America that will admit to anything from Trump. Trump did not talk to University Presidents. Trump talked to Warren who is not a University President. He is the BIG 10 Commissioner whose responsibility would be to go talk to all the University Presidents. Mr Warren went to talk to the University Presidents to try and convince them to start football after they had already voted to shut it down. The conversation Trump had with Warren started the conversations with the University Presidents. But I agree Trump had nothing to do with changing the minds of any University Presidents in voting to make football happen. Trump was involved below that level to bring it up to the University Presidents. So the tweet you posted is correct on that level. But it is not accurate as far as Trump being involved and bringing BIG10 football back

Trump got the BIG tp revisit it after they said they would not

The Big Ten said in a statement that a White House representative reached out to Warren on Monday about speaking with Trump over the phone, and the conference described Tuesday’s conversation between the two as “productive.”

LettermenRow.com reported the availability of cheaper testing that the conference could receive was discussed. The federal government recently purchased 150 million rapid saliva tests from Abbott Laboratories.

“Had a very productive conversation with Kevin Warren, Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, about immediately starting up Big Ten football. Would be good (great!) for everyone – Players, Fans, Country. On the one yard line!” Trump tweeted.

On Aug. 18, Warren said the decision to cancel football in the fall “would not be revisited.” Big Ten presidents and chancellors voted 11-3 against playing the season, it was reported on Monday.

Trump Is Reportedly Offering Big Ten Football Teams Access to the National Reserve of Rapid COVID Tests

Here is one from August 17th weeks before Nebraska filed a law suit

On Monday’s edition of Fox and Friends, President Trump continued advocating for a proper fall season. He specifically called on the Big Ten to move forward with a proper football season.

The push by players, coaches and parents to convince Big Ten presidents to restore the 2020 fall football season received assistance Tuesday from President Donald Trump, who said he had a “very productive” meeting with conference commissioner Kevin Warren on the subject.

Trump wrote on Twitter after the meeting that he and Warren had discussed “immediately starting up Big Ten football” amid the coronavirus pandemic and said their talks were “on the one-yard line.”

Later, speaking from the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland before departing for Kenosha, Wis., Trump said he and Warren “had a very good, conversation, very productive.”
“Maybe we’ll be very nicely surprised,” Trump was quoted as saying by ESPN. “They had it closed up, and I think they’d like to see it open, along with a lot of other football that’s being played right now.”
