Yeah but if he wants to win he could go to teams like Gonzaga and Creighton, who imo are better and have more PT available lol
Hes not going to start for any of those teams imo. Haarms is either a very nice role player on a top 10ish team or a starter for a middling team

Epperson is probably better than what they had last year but the freshman is a ?, and Haarms would be a huge upgrade.

Haarms is an awesome piece with a good backcourt. Creighton actually reminds me of that Purdue team with Edwards and Cline.

But the truth is most any team in the country could use him, where he goes is anybody's guess.

Hello Florida State,

I'm kidding but it wouldn't surprise me to see him land on a team that gets a bunch of bigs regularly

He'll have his choice. Not a game changer, but he was a starter for a team that almost made it to the Final 4.

It's also not lost on me that we're discussing Matt Haarms on what should be the championship game night...

Sad doesn't begin to describe it.

I would have expected a bunch of declarations to the draft as well as transfers by now, but yes, it is very sad today

Kofi Cochburn tweeted that he enjoyed his time at Illinois, loved the fans. Looks like he is bolting to the NBA.

He’s not even close to ready. I think he has a month or so where he can come back to Illinois.

is

Agree, he has time to return. Reminds me of Patrick O'Bryant from Bradley. An agent gets in their head and sways their decision. Granted O'Bryant got his pay day but his total minutes on the NBA court added up to about 2 quarters.

Damn Illinois set to lose 5 of their top 7 from last year if Dosunmu and Kofi do leave.

Garza entered draft but will not hire agent. I get the move in theory, nothing wrong with testing, seems odd this offseason though as you cant work out for anyone. Selfishly i want him back but if he goes i hope its based on good advice. His family doesnt need the money so no reason to leave unless youre a lock 1st rounder

1. I'm confused, you told me he wouldn't even consider :)

2. But seriously, my gut tells me he's just testing waters to get feedback. I think his lack of defense pushes him to 2nd rounder, meaning he'll be back. I could be wrong though

Im actually surprised given the circumstances. Garza gets a bad rap on D. Hes not elite but hes certainly not bad either. That said it really makes no sense imo to test in a year you cant actually test.

Iowa overall was pretty poor defensively. A good defensive center can mask some short comings.

Yeah i dont know his family history enough to intelligently comment. Maybe they really need him making money? But otherwise its just stupidity and poor decision making

It's not about getting drafted anymore for these kids.

If they think they can play in the NBA, they'll go. Rookie classes are so young and predictable that undrafted players turn into good players all time.

Duncan Robinson is a starter for a good playoff team. Duncan Robinson...

It sound like Garza will stay, but I'm surprised he is. He probably thinks he can beat the tar out of these other guys that are declaring.

Big 10 grants Bohannons redshirt

Now we just need Garza back and Iowa has their first legit Final 4 team since the late 80s
