They were 84 coming into the day. We were 67. My guess is we'll be probably around the same and they will drop slightly.

Road games left vs MSU, Purdue , Michigan , Nebraska and Maryland is tough . Honestly that's probably 5 losses so it's not much room for error especially when the hone slate includes Purdue , Wisconsin , Iowa, Indiana. Gophs will need to win at Rutgers and NW then at least split the hone games . If they do that they can get to 9-11 and maybe have a shot at an at large but the schedule is brutal the rest of the way

Don’t get me wrong nothing is a lock. But there’s still too many games left that can reasonably be won.

Rutgers and Northwesten. Good chance to split those. 5 wins.

Wisco/Indiana. Good chance to split those home games. 6 wins.

Illinois at Home. 7 wins.

With a few more solid chances at home wins(Iowa and Purdue).

They don’t need a miracle to get 8 or 9 wins. I think it’s highly likely they do. But that wouldn’t be enough wins

The good thing is there are lots of opportunities left to get a few big wins

They also beat Nebraska at home. That’s kinda the point with a lot of these games. Almost all these teams are flawed.

Might the Gophs lose most of them? Sure

But you’re also unrealistically pessimistic if right now you are worried about the Gophers based on their play. But on the flip side have Indiana coming in to be them at the barn. Indiana looks like they have forgetter what basketball is...especially anywhere on the road.

Personally I'd rather be Minnesota than any team in the P12. At this point it's about aboidibg bad losses and having opportunity for good wins . Minnesota has that in spades .

What changed? What transformed the team from losers to winners?


Thing is, this team is basically 3-4 stars and a whole shit load of guys trying to figure out their place on the team(new recruits and transfers) or who are trying to get back into playing bb at a high level(injured players getting healthy).


So maybe, just maybe, the team is still searching for that good chemistry, that right combination, the best fit/lineup, etc.? And I'm holding out hope that this still happens.

I mean, it seems we have the pieces, and maybe it's Pitino's fault for not putting those pieces together, or maybe it's the players needing to figure things out? I just hope for the best, of course.

I mean, I'm not an expert, just a fan, so tell me guys, don't we have the pieces? What are we missing?

Mostly missing shooting. No real offense especially against a zone. Guys don’t really know what to do against it. Not sure why teams don’t zone 100% of time vs Gophs.

The zone basically takes Murphy out of the game.
