Wasn’t the longhorn network one of the reasons it was held up last time? Does that network bring any money in? Seems to have faded quickly

I think just Texas in general. They want to keep all of theirs, and get an equal cut of everyone else’s. It’s working for them so I doubt they’re going anywhere, unless the Big 10 wants to bend over for them.

Nebraska and Iowa offer nothing, and again the state of Texas would have to supply all the talent for this dreadful division just to stay competitive. Texas gains nothing in this deal, except more mouths to feed recruiting wise.
This is retarded. The more likely explanation is that you're worried about Nebraska and Wisconsin going down and poaching talent.

You do also know that Texas would, more often than not, struggle to finish better than 4th in this alignment.

Well, Texas wouldn't be a threat to them most years. And unless Wisconsin suddenly completely falls off a cliff, OU would be facing a better defense than they have for many years in the Big 12.
Didn’t Northwestern just win that division?

Well someone certainly has an inflated opinion of themselves.

This is kinda why it might not be a great move for the Sue-Nerds...or, it might be the absolute best thing that could EVER happen to them

You gain access to New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. All good recruiting grounds.

How so? What state in the West division offers anything recruiting wise? There is a reason that division is crap, they have no recruiting base. The east has ohio and Pennsylvania at least. Lets say Texas went to the B1G, and the SEC grabs Texas tech. The longhorns would have to convince recruits to play games in Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska as opposed to playing vs LSU, Arkansas, Bama and Auburn. It would be recruiting suicide to join the B1G.

The contract would be almost up and there is a 0% chance ESPN is looking to extend it. Article says they want this done for 2025-2026 season. I think that leaves 5 years of the 20 year contract left. That would likely be an easy negotiation. Only one making money on it is Texas

I believe Texas would get like a $30 million bump in TV payout; which seems significant to any school.

There it is, folks...Texas would rather be the biggest fish in a tiny pond.

Please disperse...nothing to see here

Well you'd have to subtract the 15mil we get from LHN. But like I posted above, it would be recruiting suicide.

The Big ten hasn't had a team in the playoffs in the last two seasons. Lets not act like the Big ten is some step up from the big 12, its just a conference that has 1 team that plays modern offense and they own that conference. I've stated facts, everybody else just comes back with "you're scared".

They did. It was the worst down year in the history of either division. The only other time a team made the CCG with that record was when they actually finished third in the division but the top 2 teams were on postseason probation.

Dude, Texas barely wins right now. Pump the breaks on the Pom Pom Longhorn parade.

From a financial standpoint, it would make all the sense in the world for them.
