B.Y.U. has a total of five quarterbacks listed on their team roster and two of the five are injured. So for next weekend's game vs. Boise State the B.Y.U. quarterback situation is as follows:

1. Zach Wilson - True Sophomore - OUT 6 to 8 weeks with injuries (surgery on his right hand)

2. Jaren Hall - RS Freshman - OUT WITH INJURIES (Concussion protocol)

3. Baylor Romney - RS Freshman - Projected Starter - Romney was a 2015 3 Star rated H.S. quarterback

4. Joe Critchlow - RS Sophomore - Critchlow was a 2015 2 Star rated prospect (on Scout/247). Critchlow started 3 games in 2017 as a True Freshman (due to B.Y.U. quarterback injuries that year).

5. Rhett Reilly - True Freshman - 2016 0 Star H.S. quarterback

Might be a bit of a long shot but I wonder if Romney is related to Mitt Romney, another mormon.

Zach Wilson was a three star recruit (according to Scout/247) in 2018 and Jaren Hall was also a three star recruit in 2016 (according to Scout/247)

Zach Wilson, Brigham Young, Pro-Style Quarterback

Jaren Hall, Brigham Young, Dual-Threat Quarterback

Compare B.Y.U.'s quarterbacks to Boise State's five quarterbacks:

1. Hank Bachmeier - True Freshman - 4 Star rated H.S. recruit in 2018 - Hank Bachmeier, Boise State, Pro-Style Quarterback
He may or may not be available next weekend vs. B.Y.U. He's doubtful IMO

2. Chase Cord - RS Sophomore - 3 Star rated H.S. recruit in 2017 - Chase Cord, Boise State, Pro-Style Quarterback
184.51 Pass Eff. Rating vs. Hawaii

3. Jaylon Henderson - RS Senior - 3 Star rated H.S. recruit in 2015 - Jaylon Henderson, Boise State, Dual-Threat Quarterback
160.84 Pass Eff. Rating vs. Hawaii

4. Riley Smith - RS Freshman - 3 Star rated H.S. recruit in 2018 - Riley Smith, Boise State, Pro-Style Quarterback

5. Zach Matlock (Walk-on) - RS Freshman - Not listed in the Scout.com/247Sports database

Interesting that Cord is listed as a pro style. I have to give credit to our QBs for staying the course and sticking it out (at least for now). Especially Cord. It must have been really disappointing to lose the race for #1. I really like our 1 on down to our 3. Henderson can ball out too and by all accounts has been a great teammate. Nice to see him get in the mix.
