Austin Out 2 Weeks

1. Rams wideout Tavon Austin sprained his MCL against the Buccaneers and is out roughly two weeks, Rapoport reported, per a person informed of the injury.

Well, here we go again with this guy.

This is why you don't draft small WR's that high. Too much of a risk to put that much draft capital into.

And it's not like he's done much to show he was worth taking there even when he is healthy. Aside from the Indy game, he hasn't show much and is starting to look like another 1st round draft bust for the Rams.

That injury was on the QB. Late low throw on a 9 route with a FS barring down on him.......Thats recipe for any WR to get hurt. 2 week injury isn't the end of the world.

Imo you shouldn't draft WRs that high in general unless they are obvious freaks. Every starting level WR should be able to get open against the average CB under the current rules.

I knew you were Red, however I don't know who is available to you. With that, don't be surprised if Tre gets a lot of extra touches in the next two weeks in place of Austin....

The Rams have been lacking speed for years. They needed a player that could motor and they drafted one. He will be okay. I expect good things from Tavon in the future.

well i have Calvin Johnson and Demeris Thomas as my starting Wrs, but a guy like Randel Cobb is off the table.

I fear this is going to be the beginning of a long list of injuries this guy is going to suffer because of his size issue. He is not built for the Pro game and I don't wish it on anyone but because he is being misused, he is going to go the way of Pead. Desean Jackson who is similarly built has had his share of injuries and they have taken a toll. Austin is headed in that direction.
