I rather see the kid come of the bench during a regular season quarter. Say shuan plays first quarter but the offense fails to produce. Then bring Davis in and see if he can spark the offensive. He he continues to produce more than Shaun then I say make him the starter.

I agree I would like to see what Davis has, but most FO's will play this safe. Because if Davis comes in and completely stinks it up and then they put Hill in and starts winning games, it's what gets FO's fired.

In some ways, as weird as this may seem, I think it works against Austin...

If you watched this presser (Fisher: "We've got depth, youth and flexibility") at about the 50 sec. mark, Fisher briefly talks about Austin's 'mobility'. Fisher on Davis: "He is mobile, smart and understands what we are trying to do, he can extend plays if he needs to.... he's gotten much better at keeping his eyes down field. That's a hard thing to learn...." Which I read into as meaning, stay in the pocket, move the chains and let the team play all three phases of the game to win ball games.

So in other words Junkie, and I hate to say it cause I know you love it, that mobility aspect of Austin could have been working against him thus far....

If Hill hasn't looked good this preseason then it would be Davis's team but Hill has looked pretty darn good so I think Fisher is more comfortable with experience over mobility. If Hill proves he can't do it then Davis will get a shot after he has watched for a while. Smart move.....

one things for certain, its going to be a looong ass season, so theres a good chance Austin will get some snaps. Who knows maybe he could surprise! I'll tell you what, this fan base needs something good to happen and happen soon! I guess if they bring in another qb after all of the cuts, then they are probably not convinced that Austin is their guy. If not, well then maybe they like this kid!
