That ump was a fucking disaster. I am stunned that guy has a job in the MLB. I am honestly surprised nobody got tossed bitching at his calls.

He probably didn't toss anybody because he knew his strike zone was terrible and that they had a right to complain about it. I felt a bit bad for Martin. While you can't chalk up all five of his K's to an ump who was clearly trying to get back to his hotel for an early dinner, at least two of those strikeouts came on bogus strike calls. I'm not gonna say that it was the worst strikezone I've ever seen (the 90's consistently featured terrible strikezones, particularly in the National League), but it was one of the worst this year and lefties seemed to get the worst of it. I think the ump was positioned too far to the left of the catcher to get an accurate read on the outside corner for lefties. It's the only explanation I can come up with for how this ump could look at pitches that repeatedly crossed the front line of the right-handed batter's box and say they went over the outside corner of the plate.

What a marathon that was! We finally have five in a row, and with Felix on the mound for the sweep I like our chances; even with how he has pitched lately. This team is showing a fight that hasn't always been there.

As a Jays fan, you are right on...BAL-BOS-TOR will be beating on each other the rest of the year. Even with TOR, they have more trouble with Tampa than Baltimore so it's even more relevant.

M's have been impressive. My Seattle friend told me they were sellers when they traded Miley. I wasn't sure...looked to me like they were just sending their 6th best starter packing in a good trade. They've weathered a few injuries nicely and might just be hitting their stride now.

A sweep of Detroit would be HUGE. Got Felix on the mound...that's what you'd want...

Maybe Jedi does know what he is doing? I like Scotty for our skip, but what was he thinking pulling Cano with two outs and one on? That was dumb but we made it through.
