4 year extension is for 65.3M. He'll get 25.5M in 1st year alone, and more than half (37.5M) is paid in the first 2 years of the contract!! HOLY S*)%!

His 16.3M per year average is the most signed by a player over 30, Non-QB, in NFL History.

DUDE GOT...P-A-I-D!

That contract starts next year right? It does not overwrite this current contract year, right?

Correct. It is a true extension on top of the current deal. Signed through 2022.

I like it. And they accelerated the value to the first year so they can resign AJ Green per the articles. I like the sound of that.

I hope they are also looking at Brown. This LB corps needs another body outside of VB, and Brown has been a solid, and reliable, as you can get in the NFL.

Let's see how he does. And if all goes well, maybe we use Burficts contract to pay for Brown's instead with all these young LB's now on the team.

Now we know whey they were trying to free up cash.... Good job to frontload some money here. The Bengals work best when the get out in front of contract negotiations. They've done good to get guys locked up before FA ever happens.

That is the only contract that ever seems to work out for us.

I love the way these contracts are structured. Most of Geno’s guaranteed money is in the first 2 years. Allows the team some wiggle room if age catches up with him halfway through the deal.

Dunlap is now under contract for the rest of his prime years.

The priority is now AJ Green next offseason (as it should be). As others have stated I’d love to see them lock up Preston Brown as he should have a good season. Could allow them to move on from Burfict if one of the young LBs can step up.

Unlikely they keep Dennard now, unless they decide to move on from Dre.
