The bullpen has to improve or we won't go deep enough to win it all in October.
The frustrating part is that we know the talent is there. We've seen Diekman dominate. We've seen Kela dominate. Barnette has been for the most part outstanding. And Jeffress can be good too when he's not pissing his pants on the side of the road at 3 am.

Minus some sort of Mendez or Sadzec late-season revelation, I'm afraid our best bet is hoping our current guys re-discover their earlier season form before October.

My wife and I was at a restaurant with our 2 sons, daughter-in-law and grandson and saw us go down 2-0 and not score after having men on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs. Get to sons house and it was 2-2 and watched and left at 10-3. On the way home I said to myself if it ends up 10-9 I will be really ticked even though we get a W. Now I really did not think it was anything to worry about. Then get home and see Diekman totally stink again and hold on. But it wasn't 10-9. :)
Life's little pleasures ;)

I think they've all thrown a high in IP aside from Barnette and Kela, extra rest couldn't hurt. The Maz error didnt help and yes they have to throw strikes
Maybe late in the game they need to take him out and put DDJ out there for defensive replacement. I did not like how he looked out there at the end.

Dyson vs their 3-4-5 hitters in the 9th?

I'm thinking this thing does not go well. I hope I'm wrong but not gonna watch. I know I'll get way too pissed.

Our bullpen SUCKS!!
Can't put the entire blame on the BP in the 7th. Yeah there were walks but Mazara should have had that fly for the last out.

Houston has been on a hot streak every time we have seen them and have knocked them down a notch. Where are those who were saying that the Astros would overtake the Rangers?

lol this game would end on a hanging curve for strike 3.
I know .....I said how could he look at that meatball. Probably fooled and thought it was going in the dirt as a throw away pitch.

12-2. Houston and Seattle would be in the playoffs as WC teams at least if not for the Rangers.

I missed that.

Mazara missed two. The triple and the Altuve fly for a two base error driving in the 6th run.

Ok the Bregman fly was difficult in the corner but the Altuve fly ball error was ugly.

What's frustrating is the pen has been on when we are in one run games. We did not get those 30 or so one run games on just starting pitching.

Don't know. Maybe they get complacent in large run lead games.

Keuchel was moved out so he did not get his rear end handed to him here in Arlington. That is why Mac chuckled.

I hope you guys enjoy the rest of this series. I'll be flying to Seattle tomorrow to attend my friends wedding on Sunday. I've never been, it should be interesting. Coincidentally, the Rangers will be coming to town. I've already got tickets for the Labor Day game up there. I'd bet that not many Ranger fans have been to safeco. I'm hoping banny doesn't rest half of the team after the long flight, but I think he might.

There were lots of Rangers fans in Safeco when we played there earlier in the season. Remember Brett Nicholas' debut. There were a bunch of fans sporting Rangers colors there, aside from Brett's group. Have fun, and stay safe Crawler. Bring back some W's

I've been to Safeco Park. It is a beautiful stadium. Just have to get used to the train. But overall a great place to see a ballgame.

From Lone Star Ball
If you were to ask an Astros fan who their least favorite Rangers players were before tonight's game, you'd probably find Carlos Beltran, Rougned Odor, and now Carlos Gomez would probably rank 1, 2, and 3.

Tonight, in the opening game of the most pivotal series of Houston's season, with their best starter in 2016 on the mound against the Rangers' fifth starter, those three players went a combined 5-for-11 with five runs scored, five RBI, two home runs, and three walks.

Jonathan Lucroy, who could have been an Astro if Houston's GM Jeff Luhnow believed in his team, and who Luhnow bemoaned no trade clauses about to USA Today in a candid, but sort of pathetic display, went 2-for-4 with a dinger, two runs scored.

Perhaps the only thing that could have made the game worse for Houston would have been if Cole Hamels were on the mound shoving against them. He'll have his chance soon enough against the team he exercised his no trade on last year.

I see Musgrove pitching again today. Missed that decision. Heading out to BP again today. Relaxed tailgate. Glorious weather.

BP a bit shaky although Dyson did well. See if Dutch continues to pitch well. We have a shot at 100 wins. Awesome

Bush did fine as well. His run came in because Diekman could not do his job. And this weather is unbelievable for August so enjoy yourself. Hope you see another W.

Hope we have better results against Musgrove early this time around. Don't think they want Keuchel pitching in Arlington any time soon, its a shame we kill him at Globe
