This deserved its own thread - This what I said the other day, the only way to keep Diva and give him a new contract is with an incentive-laden contract - Just throwing money at him the way he is asking for it , is just not reasonable at this point in his career.

However, while I agree with the person that posed this question on the latest Ask Ira - I doubt Diva would accept an incentive-laden contract that was based on games played given how much he loves to SIT OUT games. So maybe make the incentives based on other things. Its the only way.

How do signing bonuses work? Could we give him a lower contract with a bigger signing bonus? Or do those hit against the cap?
