Boss, I know how you feel about your city getting poo-pooed. It's frustrating when you live there and realize the great parts, and awesome things and people that can be found there, but people are too busy looking at stereotypes and listening to idiots give their opinion. You know it's a gem, and that's what matters. Great people live there, people that clearly support their team and their city.

All 4 Hawks players were the last ones on the ice, and were hamming it up/posing for pictures.
Should be plenty of shots of it out there, as every press camera on the ice was snapping photo's, becauae, well.. they were the only players left on the ice.

No, It's 100% of the battle. If an owner is committed to putting a good product on the ice that is competitive they will win and draw fans.

As far as Buffalo being a desirable place to play or live, that is also a fallacy, Why did Harry Neale move here well before he became a Buffalo broadcaster? Why does Scott Bowman still have a home here? Why did Sittler move to Buffalo and have his kids in a private school here even tho he never played here? Why does Marcel Dionne live here even tho he never played here? Why does Jim Schoenfeld still live here? Why do Rene Robert and Rick Martin still live here? I could go on and on with a list of players and coaches that started here or moved here because they know the passion Buffalo fans have.

Buffalo as the TV ratings show is the tops in the US even if our team is not in the late rounds. I can back this up with statistics.

The current ownership is why players don't want to play here. From everything I have read and seen the new owner can change that. He is an 18 year Sabres season ticket holder and has twice the money that Galisanblow has, not to mention he is a big time hockey fan. Gakisanblow just wanted to make money.

Bottom line is look out Toronto, Boston, Ottawa and Montreal....this guy has bucks and wants to win a cup.

Sorry but unless he is going to hold a gun to a UFA's head or the on ice situation improves, Buffalo will not be as desirable a destination as the teams you mentioned. Yet, the Leafs are in a state of crap right now, but we are still the Leafs. Much like the Bruins and Habs, we have tradition and appeal.

Besides which, money is all well and good, but as teams like mine and the Rangers in the past have proved, it is signing the right mix of them that brings about a winner. I'm just not convinced that in a bidding war with a top FA, Buffalo will have any edge over a team like Boston, Philly or a Detroit.

Just finished watching. It was a fun game with some cool guys, some nice moves, and some incredible passing. It was an exhibition and for that, it was enjoyable.

I actually thought Letang might have been most deserving of the MVP, but it doesn't matter too much. It was fun!

I spent last night watching a DVRed FSU-MSU hockey game (damn you, me, forgetting to record the U of M-MSU game!), but I tuned in for a little bit. I don't think I have watched the ASG since Darius Kasparaitus was leveling guys and Darien Hatcher was considered an "elite" defenseman.

I know the number one goal of the night is to not get injured, but I could not get over how slowly everyone moved. I'm sure that's how they always play, and I'm just not used to it... but I just couldn't watch.
