Good to see the bats wake up for the first time in a while. It'd be nice to sweep the A's going into the all-star break, though it would have been nicer if they had taken care of Minnesota first. Still, with a solid grip on the second wildcard spot in the AL heading into the break, the M's are in a better spot than most people imagined they'd be in at this point in the season.

I was one that didn't like the shift Lloyd made moving the pitchers back for this series, but I'll say it's worked so far and maybe it was a good call.

So midseason, is Lloyd at the top of anyone else's manager of the year list? The A's and Orioles were supposed to be good, so what he's led is more impressive than Buck and Bob. I think Soscia is in the conversation too.

Runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs but those guys on base are the only two on the team that can hit so how can you bring him home?

This game will put him over 1600 at bats in the majors. If he doesn't have it by now i seriously doubt hes going to just click one day and get it.

The guy rakes in the minors but cant hit for jack crap in the majors.

Same with Bustin Smoak who has 1931 at bats in the majors with a .225 in the majors but .279 in the minors.
