last year we had at least 6 guys who were pegged to be MLB-ready by mid-end 2015. Unfortunately, that ALL stumbled in '14. I still have faith, but it doesn't look like we have a 1 in the system.

Just spit-balling expected ceilings for our kids...

Crick - 2/3
Mejia - 3
Blackburn - 3/4
Blach - 3
Beede - 2
Stratton - 3/4
Flores - 2/3
Agosta - 5??

Am I forgetting anyone?

Snodgrass? I'm partial to the potential of a pitcher who is 6'6".

I am familiar with him, but he has never really done anything to really get on my radar, so I cant speak with any authority. If he becomes a 5/journeyman, I will be pleasantly surprised.

I vaguely recall he threw a no-hitter for us.

From wikipedia:

Edward Louis Halicki (born October 4, 1950) is an American former professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1974–1980. On August 24, 1975, Halicki threw a no-hitter for the San Francisco Giants against the New York Mets in a 6-0 victory. Halicki's no hitter was the last no-hit game by a Giants pitcher at home until Jonathan Sanchez's no-hit winning game on July 10, 2009.

Yeah ... this is the guy I remember ... living in NY and the no hitter against the Mets ... makes sense now ... just remember something about him being very tall ... not much else though

The Giants had a very mixed bag in the AFL this year. Pitching was terrific, hitting was atrocious.

Okert finished with 12 innings, 5 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 17 K, 0.75 ERA all in relief

Tyler Rogers finished with 12.2 innings, 15 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 2.13 ERA all in relief

Blackburn finished with 11.2 innings, 14 hits, 7 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 5.40 ERA all in relief

Carbonell (23 years old)

.190/.217/.276, 1 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 2 BB, 16 K, 58 AB, 0 SB, 1 CS

Blake Miller (24 years old)

.193/.303/.211, 1 2B, 0 HR, 5 RBI, 7 BB, 11 K, 57 AB. 1 SB, 0 CS

Kelby Tomlinson (24 years old)

.111/.200/.159, 1 2B, 1 3B, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 7 BB, 10 K, 63 AB, 8 SB, 1 CS

The Scorpions finished with a 12-20 record.

From MLB.com:

GIANTS
Best Performance: Opponents batted just .119/.140/.119 against left-handed reliever Steven Okert, who had a 17/1 K/BB ratio over 12 innings. He can push his fastball to 97 mph and wipe out lefties with his hard slider.

Best Prospect: Finesse right-hander Clayton Blackburn threw strikes as usual (zero walks in 11 2/3 innings), but got hit hard to the tune of a 5.40 ERA in six relief appearances. He was focused more on adding a slider and a splitter to his repertoire than his results.
