Sure. Refs miss calls. Refs make bad calls. It happens. In every sport in which there is a ref.

If you've ever reffed an football game you would see how hard it is to see everything. Even when you are focusing solely on one particular area of the field. The human brain can't process everything. It focuses on specific things and only peripherally processes other things.

I don't understand why fans demand perfect from refs, as if they are something other than human.

Much like players take their helmets off on the field all the time, which is also a penalty.

People complain about how the refs are too involved in the game and then complain about how the refs need to call more penalties.

Porter should have been flagged but I hardly consider that some horrible missed call that affected the game.

There's no question games aren't called the same. But there's just no excuse for missing that. There was an official standing right there. It's clear Porter wasn't medical staff or the HC. And he was trying to start a fight.

They flag Porter the second he gets on the field....none of this nonsense happens.

Hell, the Steelers gave Porter a freaking game ball.

The big thing here is the NFL actually fined Porter already, passively admitting that the officials screwed up. Which is better than they usually do...so I give them props for that.

The only person who should be fined from that game is Burfict for his hit on Brown. He should be suspended as well. Completely uncalled for and dirty.

For the record - I do think Porter is a douche that will eventually cost his team in some way shape or form. But in that game, he played the odds and won.
