Whats the buzz around the Utah organization on there feelings toward giving Hayward anextension. Or would they rather deal him?

We don't know. Sign him for number 3 option money and sure. I wouldn't take out a 2nd mortgage for him, but it's not my money. I see him as an 8 million per caliber, tops. If he wants 12, adios and offer Marvin Williams 8.

Now that Marv is healthier, he can do just about all we need a 3 to do. He's about the only positive I'm seeing so far this year. Maybe Rush comes back strong and that fills a hole for the future too (as Burks future seems dubious).

I agree, Marvin looks like a solid player. I didn't know he was hurt last year, but that probably explains the drop-off last year.

Marvin is still worth slightly less than the MLE to me.

I've always liked Rush, it was too bad about his injury last year. If he can come back, I'd be satisfied with a Rush-Williams moderate longterm deals. No, they can't really create their own shot, but they can do a little bit of everything on both sides of the ball.

I really like Hayward and think he could even become a 2 option one day. It's hard I think his value is only about $8-10 million, could be as high as $12 million. If a team comes and offers him $15 million that will be a sucky day, because rather we sign him or not it's going to be a tough move. Obviously, I think it hurts long running signing him (look AK47), but it will be a big piece to miss unless a Wiggins or Parker fills the hole.

Not me, personally. I'm guessing the rest of us won't re-sign him either. But the Jazz might.

I know. :lame:

Don't they have Hayward playing the 2 now? All of the lineups I am seeing have him listed at the 2.

NBA Basketball Power Rankings - National Basketball Association - ESPN

While Kevin Durant was rumbling for 48 points, Gordon Hayward was becoming just the fourth player in Jazz annals (along with Karl Malone, Pete Maravich and Adrian Dantley) to ring up 37 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the same game ... which Utah amazingly found a way to win.

:(

When I read this last night, I didn't read the "Jazz annals" part.

So I thought Hayward was the 4th player in NBA history to do that. Which would have made it more special.

Malone must have had 37/7 a bunch of times though. He was too good to have only done it once.

Let me check.

On top of that, opponents have done 37/7 plus rebounds twice against the Jazz, but one of them was in the playoffs!

And the time in the playoffs was a higher assist total too, 9.

This has been thoroughly disappointing.
