If I had to rank them now:

1-Chicago (Rose is looking good, Butler has developed and Gasol was a huge pickup)
2-Washington (A deep team and they added PP, he'll be big in the playoffs imo)
3-Cleveland (playing better, but they have a lot of scorers and just 1 ball)
4-Atlanta (want to see them do it in the playoffs first, not sure they can keep this up)
5-Toronto (don't trust them without DeRozan)

DeRozan returned tonight. Amazing, I thought he was out for the season. I hope he didn't push himself too hard to come back.

The wizards are the last eastern conference team that I want the bulls to play in the playoffs. They seem to have the bulls number. Nene and Gortat are huge and give the bulls front court problems. Then they also have a great backcourt with wall and beal. Pierce adds a veteran scoring presence and can come through in the clutch. If the bulls meet the wizards in the playoffs, I think they would lose. I see the raptors as the paper tigers in the east. They will be good throughout the season, but might not even make it to the second round.

Some good observations here. Just don't forget that the playoffs involve a completely different game than the one we see in the regular season. The homecourt advantage also is not always that big of a deal during that time. The Wizards actually did better away than at home during last years playoffs.

I think that you need to consider experience in the mix for the playoffs & that is where you have to be afraid of teams like the Spurs & Cavs and wary of teams like the Hawks. The Wizards may also benefit in this area from last season & the addition of Pierce. However - I still am not totally convinced that they will go too far in the playoffs. They still may need a year or two. As far as I am concerned the East is up for grabs right now in terms of the playoffs.

We are good enough to lose in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Unless Cleveland does us a favor, I don't see us beating Atl or Toronto to get to the finals.

East is going to be tough this year. As a bulls fan I don't want to face Wash. They have our number right now. Im not worried about Atlanta, Toronto or Cavs as much as im worried about playing Wash.

That would be fun and you know the NBA and media would have fun with the Gasol vs. Gasol story line.

That would be great. When was the last time brothers battled it out in the NBA Final for the championship(was there ever one).

List of Brothers who have Played in NBA

Here is a list of all the brothers that have played in NBA (the link is a bit of a mess). Can't see anyone who stands out as being in the finals - perhaps 2 of the Barry brothers - maybe both way down the bench?

The team that represents the east will depend on seeding and match ups. I think it could be just about anyone out of Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, or Atlanta. I'm not quite sold on Toronto.

I wouldn't underestimate them but still would take Chicago and atlanta over them right now. Cleveland, Washington and Toronto are in the next tier.

I'd agree with this, but I still think the Wizards can win a series against any team in the East.

They definitely can. The thing is though, that describes almost any team in the East right now. I could see where just about any East team could win or lose a playoff series to just about any other East team. I consider a healthy Bulls team to be the favorite to come out of the East, but I could just as easily see them losing to any one of about 3 or 4 other East teams in a playoff series.

There's only 3 title contenders in the East. CHI, CLE & ATL in that order.

I'd Disagree with only 3, I'd say 4. ATL, TOR, WASH, CLE.
CHI has had a history of injury and chemistry issues deep in the playoffs.

Everyone else is young and deep enough to give a western team a run for their money.
