Yeah, Ottawa's a strong bet. The Caps will probably eclipse the Pens for the 3rd divisional spot. It'll come down to the Bruins or Pens for the final wildcard.

"It’s so sad that it’s going to take Stanley Cup-level desperation for the Bruins just to earn a playoff berth. But that’s what happens when you play as though you’re in an alternate reality where you’re still the defending Cup champions four years after you won it."

I'd criticise this but with this group it actually seems to be true. Marchand and Lucic hold their rings over opponents as if they became permachamps after that.

unreal what ottowa is doing right now.

14-0-1 in their last 15, averaging like 5 goals a game.

This is why I think the Bruins are still right in the thick of it.

The Sens (or anybody else for that matter) can't sustain that level of play in the NHL. I also think sadly that Andrew Hammond's bubble is gonna burst soon and Anderson better be ready when that time comes.

Spoken like a, well, a Leafs fan. Or Chicken Little.

Dude, your team is on a roll. They are ahead of Boston. Enjoy it and hope it continues. Dont get all Leaf-y on us now!

this it was happens when not ONE SINGLE PLAYER on the ENTIRE team is having a better than average season. In fact most are having a below average season. Add in the injuries, and aging D core and a chasing team going 14-0-1 in this recent stretch and this is why the toast is burnt to a crisp.

Whoa!! Let's not say things we can't take back here!!

I actually like Ottawa's chances but it's gonna be tough to maintain a good pace over the last 10 games, IMO. 7-3 is a lock but 6-4 probably gets it done too. That being said I don't think Boston is toast by any means. They're in trouble no doubt though.

If the Panthers get back on track after last night's game, they're in it too - those H2H games against Ottawa and Boston will make a big difference - if the Panthers win those head to head games, I honestly think they might make it - all depends on what happens in the other games

Have to hand it to the other top teams in the East though. They got better while Boston and Pittsburgh got stagnant. They have earned their spots in the standings. One of the best things about hockey is this wont make the playoffs any less entertaining without Pittsburgh or Boston or both. I am actually looking forward to watching the Rangers and Isles in the playoffs.

The Bruins have been crummy of late due to several players loafing. Some people with a rye sense of humo(u)r are taking pleasure from the Bruins struggles, but I still think they can rise up and slice their way into the playoffs.

They wont keep up that winning percentage but I am not so sure they will fall off all that much. They got hot at the right time so maybe they will keep the momentum? Crazier things have happened.:noidea:
