The offensive line is picking up where they left off last year. Stupid mental mistakes. You can bash Dalton all you want but if the offensive line is making stupid mistakes I don't care who your QB is behind that line. It's only preseason but the same thing happened last season it started in preseason didn't stop.

The defense played well other than the screen on the first drive. I was impressed with Iloka in the box. Harrison is a beast.

What stands out is no one got hurt from what I saw and it was just a preseason game. Last year the Bengals lost a free agent signed starting guard (put on IR) on the first play of the preseason.

Hunt had the Falcons backup LT completely outclassed.
either Hunt is going to be a future probowler, or the Falcons have horrible OL depth. either way I want to see him get some looks with the 1s during the preseason.

Falcon's OL depth is bad...but Hunt is a beast. Right now he's just using his freakish size/strenght. Once he gets down how to use various moves and think through the position, he's got a shot of being a solid pass-rusher.

Thing I noticed? Rey looked like he was in shape, and made a tackle on a nice swing pass/check down on 3rd down to force a punt. He doesn't get many positives, so it was kind of like the highlight of the night for him.

Here are a few observations I noticed from last night. I think Dane Sanzenbacher knocked Brandon Tate off the roster and locked up the 6th wr spot with Green, Sanu, Hawkins, Jones, Whalen and Sanzenbacher making the roster with Tate getting cut and Hamilton going to the practice squad. I think a lot of Dalton's and the Team's offensive woes in general can be traced to issues on the O-line. Kyle Cook is probably one of the worst Centers in the League who lacks the strength to hold up against the rush in the middle on passing plays and the agility to reach the second level on running plays. I actually think Jermaine Gresham is going to have a monster year as teams have to respect the athleticism that Tyler Eifert and Giovani Bernard brings to the table. I think the Bengals will end the Season ranked as the #1 ranked Defense in the League. I think the Bengals are the most complete team in the AFC. I think they will win their first Playoffs Game since George HW Bush was in Office. And I think this is Zimmer's last season in Cincinnati as he will land a head coaching job next year. I know this was only the first preseason game but there were a lot of positives that offered a glimpse of the quality of talent the Bengals have accumulated on their roster.

I think the D can be terrific. They only had one bad play last night and it was a perfect play call by Atlanta. Our D-line is as talented a line as I have seen in years and the linebackers are an improvement from where we were several years ago..... Good depth at DB as well.

Yes our center sucks....We can all agree. But what about our tackles? I thought they were awful last night. Whit is injured, Collins looks like he stopped learning/trying, and Roland has always sucked. I didn't get a good look at Tits, but I'll assume he'll be fine as he looks to be in shape.

We still don't have a second receiver. I suppose you can do well though with one great 1st receiver and two good tight ends.

It turns out that practicing actually helps.... If you decide to take the entire offseason off, you might be a bit rusty. Who knew?
