Taking up for little brother again? Glad to see you're still playing your role.

Being a dick and sticking your nose where it has nothing to do with you.....Glad to see you're still playing your role.

Lets read between the lines, our pet press is building Whalen up hoping some team is going to think he's great and sign him... either as a favor to Whalen or because we're desperate for another 7th round draft pick.

Someone ask the NFL AFCN chat guy on ESPN if the Bengals could trade any one of their potential cuts for a late draft pick. The answer was a resounding "no". Teams are not going to give up draft picks for players they know are going to be cut.

Player for Player would be most likely, but I don't see where the Bengals are going to add anyone of signifigance through a trade like that (scrub for scrub) with the depth they already have.

I disagree somewhat.... We traded a 7th round draft pick to SF for Taylor Mays even though everyone knew he'd be cut. Sometimes you do it if you want to make sure you get the guy (i.e. he isn't free to sign somewhere else or be picked up on waivers)

But, that's a 7th rounder..... Not sure why anyone needs to stockpile those types of picks anyway.

He definitely wasn't going to be getting any (significant) playing time especially after the safety (Whitner?) played us to sign with SF, but I'm not sure it was a foregone conclusion he'd be cut.

It might not be a foregone conclusion that they would cut him, but they were trying like hell to move him. They sent emails to all teams announcing he was available. They toyed with the idea of sending him to the Bears. I'm not sure it would have been in their best interests to keep him.

If anything, that tells me they were desperately trying to ship him off, so he wouldn't take up a roster spot (i.e. had they not been able to find a taker, they'd have given him a spot on the 53, a spot they'd rather give someone else).

Taylor Mays was an anomaly... a second rd pick who had only played one year in the NFL on the verge of getting cut. They had a new coach and GM with nothing invested in him (and were also smart enough to know the guy couldn't play).

If the Bengals put Devon Still on the block they'd get a pick.

But that situation is pretty rare.

I'm not sure whether to consider his obsession flattering or scary.

Hamilton is just not very good. If you couldn't beat out Whalen and Sazenbacker, you probably suck.

He didn't play well at all this preseason and wouldn't have played at all this year, but he has some talent and WRs aren't usually very good as rookies. Hopefully he played bad enough so that no one claims him.

He's a fucking bum. He'll probably be in prison in a years time.

What possibly makes you think he will be in prison?

He can hang out with Boom Herron. He's not doing anything now.
