well we paid smith and made the trade because he was supposed to be what KC allegedly wasnt

the excuse parade if he fails will be plenty . but the fact is KC had the same excuses but he was treated much differently as far as expectations

I call BS on that comment dad! AS was traded for because the FO thought he was the only viable vet they should consider because KC and his agent made it clear, he wasn't signing here. While that decision (albeit early) seems to be a bad one (I think so!), can we stop already with the ridiculous comments about what AS is, was, should be, might be, is not etc? I wonder about drafting a QB high. The benefit in a young QB starting, especially if he is good is the reduced salary for 4 years. If you draft a guy high next year what are they going to with Smith. Pay him to ride the bench? Let the rookie QB ride the bench and use one or two of his less expensive years before finding out if you have a guy worth keeping? Trade or cut Smith?

They are probably looking at a new HC next year or the year after also.

My biggest fear is if they fire Gruden how will the optics play out. Will the media and relatively small pool of potential hires view it as another episode of Snyder losing patience and blowing shit all over again. If that's the case. We're gonna be stuck with hiring another unproven person to coach who will have no real power or say-so. And we'll be starting this shitty cycle all over again.
