i'll say 1 goal he can't take the blame for (penalty shot)

4 goals he could have stopped

2 goals he should have stopped (ov's first and jurcina's)

ov's... i know a bit of a screen but no. that can't go in at the nhl level

jurcina's.... its unacceptable for a peewee to get beaten under the arm

carlson... a wrister from that far out? you literally pulled your body weight away from the damn thing. EAT UP THE DAMN NET

I got yelled at in recent years for saying Marty was way worse than he was his first two years in the league. Brodeur lets in too many crappy goals to be given the benefit of the doubt these past 5 years or so.

Anyone else think that Lou's about willing to part with any number of first rounds to move Rolston so he can keep Bryce?

I bailed on the game towards the end of the 2nd. Some horrible goals and another 2nd period meltdown.

I agree, White played well when I was still watching the game

I was unable to watch the game, which, after seeing the box score, I'm not upset about. Did we win the fights at least?

I think its an automatic suspension for instigating in the last 5 minutes of a game

also rolston left the game in the second period with a lowered injury so they could possibly dressing 15 players Monday

i was happy to see most of the team go nuts at the end... in recent years that wouldn't have happened so the emotion was a welcome sight....

white has looked good, i will agree, with the exception of his bad pass that led to ov's breakaway before hauling him down for the penalty shot.

volch is maybe the toughest dude i've seen... most guys would be flailing around after that hit... he literally sat up on his knees and looked real calm... get the feeling he's one of those dudes that feels no pain.

however this roster is dead from the 3rd line down.

i love the elias line. i love the zip line.
i love the d personell.... but i hate the d pairings....

i would prefer to see something like what we saw early in preseason...

greene volch
urbom tallinder
white tao

but i think urbom needs to be called up at some point the bottom two lines have no life for the most part, zubes looked good tonight but some youthfulness and drive can't hurt.

I am glad i didn't get home in time for last night's game. I spent the day watching my Nittany Lions get their asses kicked, that game last night would have thrown me over the edge.

Saw Volch getting blasted on some highlights, hope he's back tomorrow. Going out to watch game with some friends who are Pens fans, a performance like last night would be torture for me. Marty better have a great bounce back.

I would sit Marty on Monday. I don't know where his head is at so far in this very young season, but it sure as hell isn't on the ice.

I am sure Marty will not play on Monday - it is obvious he is not ready for the season yet. Hope he will get back on track soon.

do you guys agree that the team has actually played okay, and actually maybe played worse in the first game than the caps game, but that marty may have cost this team at least 2 points so far this season

I thinbk they have played VERY well in spurts, but that 2nd period against Dallas was dismal. Devils could have converted a few more good chances in that game, I don't pin it on Marty for losing that point alone. I didn't see the Caps game, but just seeing the score I have to imagine he wasn't very good saturday, but at 7-2 I can't imagine the Devils played overall that well as a team either.

i think to be honest saturday night displayed why your Goalie and D is more important than anything else. i mean like rko said there was some decent play by NJ but marty letting goal after goal after goal after goal in took us out of the game. Might sound harsh to put all the blame on Marty but ya kinda have to in this situation.
