That Ron Rivera has a habit of calling off the dogs in some games. He did against the Vikes in the 4th quarter by putting in the 2nd string defense, which allowed at TD. He did it again yesterday, when we had the ball 4th and goal and up by 21 by sending in the FG unit while the offense was yelling they wanted to go for the TD. I think he put in a few 2nd stringers as well by that point. In both cases we were way ahead and it did not affect the outcome of the games. Guess he either wants to protect starters, get the backups some experience, or hates running up the score.

^^^ Yeah, I think it's a combo. Also, not like college, you've only got a 53-man roster, and it's a bigger deal if your starter gets hurt at some positions. You might have to bring a guy in from the practice squad, or sign somebody off the street, to back up you 2nd stringer who's now starting.
