About the new PED / substance abuse testing that may pass this week? In no way am I advocating PED's or drugs in general but I'm nervous that some valuable Bronco will have taken something in the recent past that he will get popped for. I would be shocked if some pretty big names across the league don't get caught, hopefully no Broncos are among them.

No. From what I gather their "lowering" the bar and that Welker could be reinstated soon and Gordon might get his reduced. Their going to be more "lienient" not tougher on certain peds and weed for one.

They're now testing for HGH for the first time. While they are lowering the bar for some substances, they are adding HGH testing.

I'm not really nervous about the addition of HGH testing but you never know who might be applying that approach to their game. I know that Peyton went to Europe multiple times during his neck procedures, where stem-cell research is dealt with much more liberally. Is that related in any way? I'm not sure where the line is drawn with HGH. I know that a lot of players were staunchly against it, since it required a blood draw vs. a urine test. I know just enough about all of this to be dangerous by ineptitude regarding the topic.

As much as I would like to see Welker back on the field, I'm not a fan of changing the rules in arrears. Besides, sitting on the couch is probably the best thing for Welker right now. I'd rather have him healthy at the end of the season and heading into the playoffs.

Yeah buddy, I'm sure there are a lot of nervous players out there. The new test can go back about 21 days. They have been close to getting this done since the beginning of August but there will still be some boneheads that get caught.

Typically, blood tests are much easier to pass than urine tests due to duration periods. That's what makes urine tests for marijuana so absurd, you could have used 90 days prior and test positive vs. only needing hours to test neg on a blood test. If they institute hair testing, I'll worry.
