Losing Carter and adding Bryz and Voracek and a #8 pick (In a weak draft, though) is fine.

Gulp!! Bryz hit the jackpot if true.

/I'd still rather have Cory Schneider and pay him in the $4 million range...

Bobby Lou gets one more chance next season, that Canucks team is still very good, add some grit and maturity (Burrows needs to grow up), dump Lapierre (he's more trouble than he's worth), and they'll have another great shot at the Cup next season.

Lots of talk about him ending up in C-Bus with Kris Russell coming back...The only thing I worry about is he is a minute muncher, who's going to gobble up that playing time?

there are holes in the top 6 imo ... the helicopter line needs some work especially with Raymond out til at least November. Not sure Higgins is top 6 or if he's even coming back

In the early rounds of the playoffs I had Lapierre pencilled in on next years roster at 1 mill ... if he can get more elsewhere, good luck to him

Lappy is RFA - $900k last year, so $990k to qualify, I think.

As for $50m / 7yrs for bryz.... holy shit that's a lot of cake for him.
Flyers finally have stability in net though. good for them.
but they had to shed salary anyways, now it could be a full-on gutting.
5 players (range of $4.2 - 6.5 mill) with no trade clauses, not much to work with otherwise.
it'll be interesting to watch, anyways.

Yeah, I hope that's true. They will be screwing themselves right in the flyhole if they give a goalie that much money.

With the cap going up and the other trades they'll be making they will be fine...at least for the short term. Better win a Cup now!

Yeah, they are not going to be in a Blackhawks situation, but that's a LOT of money in a goalie in an era where teams aren't spending a ton on goalies. They won't be screwed, but they'll lose depth, which was their hallmark this year. Probably will improve them overall, but I think $4-5 million could have kept a really good role player for them instead of an "AHL winger." That's all.

I really, really wish that 4-5 million would've been all it took to sign him! Trust me!!!

Flyers should walk ... Luongo for Jeff Carter is a much much much better deal for them :)
