Looks like he's going to free agency...I think the Oilers should target him.

How do you think I feel? The Isles haven't beaten the Flyers in regulation in something like 6 years.

Wow. If you didn't have DiPietro still under contract for six more generations, maybe you could make a move for one of them.

Not that I want you to.

That's the problem. Dipietro has something like 10 or 11 years left on his contract. It would actually be an okay cap hit (4.5) if he was healthy. Ricky has absolutely no reason to retire. Buying him out really isn't an option.:brick:

The one positive from a goaltending perspective is the Isles have two or three good ones on the way. Kevin Poulin, Anders Nilsson & Mikko Koskinen. Right now Poulin is the best of the bunch, but Nilsson was just signed & he's coming off a really good year in the Swedish Elite League.

I wouldn't worry to much though. The Pens made the playoffs & gave Tampa all they could handle without Crosby & Malkin. The Pens will be just fine if they can stay healthy.

I suppose there are better places for the Isles to spend their money. Like forwards and defensemen. You've got plenty of room under the cap to spend, too, but maybe not the funds to take advantage of it.

And I'm really confident in the Penguins going forward. I just hate seeing the Flyers win, even if we're beating up on them when we play them. :)

The Flyers haven't won a Cup since the 70's. They've come close & always put a good team on the ice. I can't fault Ed Snider one bit. He wants to win & gives the people he hires everything they need to make it happen. Fortunately goaltending continues to be an issue.

All the Islanders really need is the vote on August 1st to go their way. If they get a new arena, LOOK OUT NHL!!

I really hope the Bruins can bring the cup home this year. I def see either Buffalo or Philly being the team to make it out of the East next season.

edit: I believe Buffalo is ready. And Philly, only if, they cure their gaping hole in net.

Flyers will be no joke if they sign Bryz and dont give up much of their offense doing so. Not that they were a joke before...
