The Islanders have 28 players still in camp. Including Ryan Strome & Jay Pandolfo. Head Coach Jack Capuano hinted they might be looking outside the org. for a player yesterday. My guess would be a defenseman.

Has anyone heard any rumors about their team involved in a trade?

Pronger for Tavares. His contract with Dipietro's will be an unstoppable force for years to come. :D

I know there was talk between Philly & Nashville from the thread on here. What were the names involved?

Hartnell was the name invloved. Nothing happened obviously, and we waived 3 players today, so that has been blown over.

Isles signed Strome / Pandolfo today, fwiw.
Makes the average age of new players today pretty good.

Sorry I put it in the other thread.

I don't know why they signed Pandolfo unless there's a deal coming. Strome can still be sent down. With Tavares, Nielsen, Bailey & Reasoner at center that's probably going to happen anyway. Nino was put on IR retro to September 30 with a groin injury. Same with Gillies.

I have no idea why Pandolfo was signed. I just don't know where he fits on the roster.

Persistent chatter suggesting Leafs have interest in EDM's Sam Gagner. Makes some sense. A D-man wud go other way.

edm trying to trade another injured player? leafs would probably take him no questions asked lol

Great PK guy, your D is questionable so it can't hurt having a guy that is second to none in backchecking. Plus it can't hurt having some vets that have won on a roster filled with young players.

Tamby would still have some with Burke/Nonis ... but is he just the ventriloquists dummy?

I saw there was a rumour that Lowe was going to take over Gm duties which he squashed

In my opinion, Lowe is still the de-facto Oilers GM, I don't think any personnel moves can be made by Tamby without getting approval/sign-off from Lowe. I think Tamby was brought in as a sounding board and maybe a PR move due to Lowe's dealings with Burke and Sabres mgmt (I think they're still pissed off with Lowe and that Vanek offer sheet).

How much does the Good Old Boy network of the NHL play into it?
