I heard a rumor the Lions had a backup plan in place. Have not seen any evidence yet to support that rumor.

Dolphins have halted all contracts until they can clear cap space. I am thinking they put the cart before the horse.

We resigned Bynes again. The middle of the defense is filling out. Austin loves this guy. Thought he played well for us. I think he is a good cost friendly signing just like last year. Now we have Whitehead and Tully as well so even playing a 3-4 we are tough up the middle to run on.

yep ! Bynes is a good signing, imo as well. I'd still want them to sign George Johnson, Mathis and Mosley at this point. All three of those should be able to happen. Mosley, at minimum is a solid back-up DT if not a stop-gap starter. Johnson would be a key cog as hand in the dirt DE or stand-up rush LB. Mathis would at the very least nail down the #2 CB position. He has played very well these last 2 years and is worthy of two year contract with minimal guarantees. he could always move to the slot next year or this year should we find another capable boundary CB.

It isn't great but they're all key pieces that are also affordable.
