Unlikely, barring a lot of injuries, at least from the Pats' side. If the Pats want to go 5 wide, their first 9 choices are Gronk, Edelman, LaFell, Amendola, Vereen (or another RB if Vereen is hurt), Wright, Tyms, Hooman and Slater. If they had to go to a DB, it might be McCourty or Arrington over Revis; Arrington actually led the league one year in INTs.

Doubtful, unless injury calls for it. Why would your risk your best defensive player getting lit up?

Sherman I could see. But the Patriots have receivers on their roster, no need for Revis.

Have either of them caught a pass as a receiver in the NFL?

What does happen is the other way around -- an offensive player joins the defense in Hail Mary situations. Randy Moss was once tied for the team lead in INTs with 1.

This season Gronk has that role.

Didn't Sherman already state he did not want to play receiver at all early this season once Harvin was dealt? I can't remember the exact quote but it was something along the lines of it would show disrespect for the receivers on his team.

Oh, and I highly doubt if Sherman were to play a snap on offense the Pats would've even contemplate having Revis cover him.
