Would be a nice option. Reportedly Boston likes Malcolm Subban a lot and wouldnt part with him this past deadline. But he's still only 19 and likely a year or two away. So it'll be interesting how they handle that situation.

Only thing about Khudobin is that he's already 27..I think Marty will play another 2 seasons which means 65 starts each year. Khudobin could probably resign with the B's and get 15 starts and if successful (more likely in Boston then here) could probably get a bigger payday in a year or two.

Whats the deal with Scott Wedgewood though? Ive heard reports for years that he's got the best shot to be Marty's successor.

Well Moose is probably done next year, and if we continue to handle Marty the way we have whoever our backup is will be getting some decent playing time in 2 years.

Marty will get another contract for sure. It would be an insult to every devils fan if he starts more then 30 of those games that year. He should take a back seat and be a tutor. Instead of padding his stats.

I would like to see someone like this kid brought in this year or say wedgewood give him 20-25 starts. Then next year take over and let Marty wind down.

42 and starting 65 games? That would be a sham and sadly I can see that happen

Wow that is an impressive list. I like halak on there and lundqivst. The devils really should offer a huge deal to lundqivst

Have to imagine that St Louis will have a hard time holding on to both Halak and Elliott.

I don't quite know how we're getting there, but I think this team is making it slightly apparent that they intend to at least see what they have in Wedgwood

I think he's going to get a real shot at the throne before anyone else does.

He is a great goalie, but will be 32 years old next year. Plus, with the workload this guy puts in carrying his team every night, he probably aged a few years faster playing in NY. Maybe a short term deal? But I bet he wants a final long term deal and only with a team with a true shot at the cup. If NJ stinks next year, he will have 0 interest coming here. Even if they are good, I don't think he joins the Devils.

I hope they give Wedgewood a true shot next season. I like Moose, but he played his age when Marty went down this season.

I saw Wedgewood a lot this year at the ECHL level and it was a very mixed bag...the good news is he improved a lot as the year went on and....it was with a pretty shakey D in front!

I say the replacement plan is a UFA and a kid

was just reading that enroth might take over as buffalo's #1. miller in his final year i really dont see a big market for goalies. heck the canucks couldnt move louongo to the leafs and im sure they are happy with reimer now.

wouldnt mind picking miller up next year as a ufa

70/30 split with him and marty so he can get his 700 wins. then let miller and a kid in the system take over.

plus hes merica!

Who is the go to guy in the Devils system at the moment? Is Kinkaid the one most likely to make the jump to the NHL?

Frazee had the better season stats wise, but not W/L wise.
