No big mistakes; he was accurate, showed good poise in the pocket; bought some time & a little yardage with his feet...

Would've liked a little more scoring in the red zone, but overall I'm happy. If Smith can play like this in the playoffs they might actually win a couple of games.

I disagree, and that's all what I'm gonna say.

Whoever is gonna try jumping down my throat for saying that, here's a preemtive Fuck Off.

Vernon threw a monkey wrench in 2 of his drives, but he was still very efficient.

Alex is playing decent. He is managing the game not making the big mistakes and not losing the game for the Niners. Great... no. But compared to the Alex we used to know a huge improvement.

I would call it good not great but certainly better than he was against the Lions and Browns.

Made sound decisions with the ball and I was encouraged that him and Crabtree seemed better in sync but it's not like he was lighting up the Washington defense or anything.

In his defense though we simply don't ask him to be great and we would rather him hit mainly on 5-10 yard passes than air it out and hit 20+ yards.

I agree with your disagree. Smith got lucky that his stupid decision early in the game didn't turn into a fumble on that big hit. Plus, I'm still annoyed that he missed Gore on what was at worst a 1st down and at best an easy TD...

Smith just did his usual for the season, played well enough for the 49ers to win.

Great - no

Efficient - absolutely

It's looking like Smith will return in 2012.

Would've been better if Davis had not ruined that big passing play, dropped a 3rd down catch, and fumbled the ball away on a late drive. Smith really did not miss receivers today and even fit several balls into tight coverage. A lot of those 7 incomplete passes were because of drops and throwaways.

What else do you want?

He had a couple bad plays, and he got screwed on a couple; but he played well enough to win the game.

Ramdom stat: Alex Smith has a 0.97% interception percentage for the season. I believe that's the lowest in the NFL.

That pass to gore in the first quarter was Gore fault...Gore is a awesome runner but has trouble when it comes to catching the ball..He seem to miss one or two a game!!

That is all I want. I just don't think it counts as a great game. It's not like I'm spitting mad over his poor decisions and missed opportunities.

I know which one you're talking about, but I believe the missed gore attempt was the one in the redzone in the 2nd....

Smith was efficient and fine. His mechanics seemed better in this game than they have been in the last two, and he made some legitimately nice throws. But we converted what, one third down? Maybe two? Now, Gore and Davis both had blatant drops, Davis' on what should have been a big play. And we ran the ball a lot when we otherwise might have thrown, but we wouldn't be running there if the staff had more faith in Smith. This was a fine performance, even a good one, but it was far from great.

Alex had a couple drops and some throw a ways because of pressure. i would have loved for him to make that throw to Gore on the 3rd down, but in case you missed it, He had orakpo (spelling) in his face after he completed the roll out. Should he have completed it? Probably. Hard throw, yup.

Alex had a great throw to Miler for the TD. A great throw To Davis that he dropped. He had another great throw for a third down conversion, forget who to, but he fired it in with Fletcher diving for it. Great throw to Edwards on the slant. And another bullet to Davis for a first down as well.

Look Alex will never be a top tier QB. But right now he is playing darn good ball. Lets leave it at that.

Alex smith this season is alot lot like trent dilfer when he was the qb for the ravens super bowl team.He had decent numbers but it was the defense and the running game that won there games!! People need to learn to accept the fact that alex smith isn't going to be rodgers or manning!! He wont put up 300 plus yards and 4 td's a game

Oh come on! Dilfer was at best a below average QB that season. Alex is playing in the top 10 so far, and maybe closer to 5 than 10.
