Naw. Just having fun. It is not all doom and gloom for me today as it is for some.

I will be the first to admit Dalton looked like complete crap yesterday, and if this team is going to go to the playoffs more less worry about not going one and out, he has to improve his game, and he has to improve it starting against NE.

With that said, I am not jumping off the nearest bridge either. It really sucked to watch us lose to the Browns, but then again, this division blows, so we are not out of it by any means yet. I mean, we could have paid Dalton $100 million to throw 5 INT. We are still amazingly tied for 1st place. Just like the Broncos in 2011, do whatever it takes to make the playoffs, even if that is an 8-8 record. Win the division, and we are in.

Let's not lose all hope because Dalton had a game where he was as good as half us on this board could have been.

I mean, we get rid of Dalton right now, we still have to find a franchise QB, and then have him learn our system for a year before he is even ready, etc, etc. If the window is so small, changing QB's in the offseason is probably not going to help us anyways.

What I don't understand is are they not busting out the film and showing him, 'on this "scramble" you have a guy going this direction who may only have a foot on his guy, but you HAVE to at least attempt the pass. It may end up an incompletion, but you have to at least give your receiver a chance to make a play. And if it gets intercepted one time or another, whoopdee damn doo. That's why we have one of the best defenses in the league.'

I guess I have my answer:

Matt Schaub, Andy Dalton holding back would-be contenders - NFL.com

And it isn't just a matter of putting forth underwhelming performances in games: Sources say Dalton also routinely produces uneven efforts on the practice field and that coaches, rather than admonishing him to improve, tend to offer primarily positive reinforcement.

Depressing..... And totally believable.

Just saw that on another site...and yes. Totally fits in with the culture of this management group.

Just like they did with Ocho...they are going to blow smoke up Andy's ass and tell him how great he is, when in fact, there is much work to be done.

I'll defend Dalton here and say he's smart enough to know that he's not great despite what feedback he may be getting. I think part of his problem is that he is clearly pressing and playing with no confidence....that and his lack of talent.

Sort of agreed, but here is the problem:

In practice, dalton makes a mistake. Instead of doing the play over, or working on why it hasn't worked...they just move on to another play. Let's assume that they just run a play that they know he can execute...

I could see that scenario playing out...especially with Marvin.
