Dalton is a taint. He will never get any better than he was the day he was drafted. Time to start looking elsewhere. Good to know 2015 is already a waste.

some QBs do improve over time, some don't. What we need to see from Dalton is improvement. we didn't see that last year, he got new weapons, and still took a step back. He's well over-paid for being the 25th rated QB in the NFL. that shit won't fly.

Instead of comparing apples to oranges, compare daltons first 4 years with Andrew Lucks first 3 or Cam Newton's playoff win the point of the matter is, he's not really the type of franchise QB that can get you over the hump.

I'm sorry...I'm not defending Dalton here, but this statement really isn't true.

Green - injured all year with the toe, was never 100% and missed time/games
Jones - Never played
Eiffert - Played like 8 snaps
Gresham - Missed games, I believe, as well
Sanu - Led the NFL in drops
Burkhead - was a WR in the playoff game because no one else could go
OL - dealt with injuries and subpar subs that led to poor pass protection down the stretch

Exactly what NEW weapons did he get? Hill for the 2nd part of the season? I'll give you that, but even then...when you don't have a TE or healthy WR's to throw to, and your are lining up a converted RB, and standing behind an OL that was dealing with injuries and sub-par pass protection down the stretch and into the playoff game...it's hard to do your job, I'm sure.

That being said, you are 100% correct that we need to see more out of Andy. These things are not meant to excuse his poor play. There were too many times guys were open and healthy enough to be on the field, and when they were, he missed too many opportunities.

It's time for Dalton to help carry this team, instead of how it's been the past 4+ years where this team has been carrying him. Especially the defense.

For every Luck there is a Stafford, Sanchez, Freeman, Bradford, Tebow, Newton, Locker, Gabbert, Ponder, RG3, Tannehill, Weeden, Manuel, Bortles, Manziel, and Bridgewater. We can toss in Wilson and Kaepernick. Those are your Quarterbacks drafted in the 1st round since 2009. Really how do we draft a Luck or Wilson and not one of the other guys above. Newton has been decent not really much better than Dalton. Stafford has been decent, no playoff wins. He has shown flashes just like Dalton. You could group Tannehill with Dalton, but then the rest are 1st round turds. Kaepernick had one special year, but he has been average since. Rank Dalton among the names listed above and what they have accomplished and then please explain to me how we fix it.

I am not sucking his wiener. I am trying to say, that we go away from Dalton we have a higher probability of being worse than being better at that position for the next 5 years. It would be taking a step backwards.

Unless of course Rodgers becomes a free agent and we can sign him.

I'd rather take the chance and be terrible for a few years than stay where we are and have no hope.

If you want to make an omelette, you can't be afraid to break a few eggs.

I have no problem with moving on from Dalton after this year if he fails to improve and help carry this team. If after 5 years with all-pro talent around you, for the most part, you can't push this team over the hump, you never will.

Not everyone is all pro, but he has had as much if not more talent around him than the vast majority of QBs in this league.

Basically. 7-9 sounds about right. Excuses will be plentiful.
Every year there is always an injury excuse. "We would have won that playoff game if *** wasn't injured."
Who will it be this year?

As far as I am concerned, Jones and Eifert do not count as weapons until they each start and finish two consecutive games.

I'm not even sure either of them are any good..... Jones had one freak afternoon that accounts for an alarming amount of his total production. Eifert caught three passes in one quarter last year and was anointed an All-Pro.

I'm not so sure that they had any major injuries in the 2nd and 3rd playoff loss.

The 4th loss last year wasn't just an an injury, but a rash of them, most notably on offense.

The talent on this team is good enough for 11-12 wins, Easy.

The problem is, the QB is, at best, and 8-8 kind of guy. If the defense and running game have a bad stretch, this team is in big trouble. Dalton can't carry this team.

is very possible. I'm hoping Dalton is simply holding back for the regular season, cuz he looks like absolute poo right now. 4-12 is about right. we're overdue for a let down season.
