He was playing very impressive basketball in 07/08 prior to that freak injury from landing on Odom's foot. He was putting up 13 and 10 on 64% shooting. He had 25 and 17 the game prior to the injury. Bynum and Kobe were developing some good chemistry and the Lakers had one of the better records in the league. His second knee injury was a freak accident as well with Kobe crashing into him. Things could have been much different for the Lakers (i.e. no trade for Pau) if not for that first knee injury.

Lakers could use a big man. I would let him come back. But with a contract that was very strict. Where he could be let go without losing money.
