They would be selling sort of low on him if they did. He regressed last year. Better to keep him to rebuild value and flip him at the deadline? Regardless, teams would be lining up for a guy like Teheran. Red Sox might be at the front of that line(I would hope).

Freeman was dealing with wrist trouble all season that kept him out of many games.

Teheran, while he did close out the season strong, getting his ERA to around an even 4 from the a near 5.5 he had at the AS break, he regressed last season. He was dominant at home, but absolutely terrible on the road.

Home stats: 8-2, 2.89 ERA, 1.064 WHIP, .211 BAA
Road stats: 3-6, 5.40 ERA, 1.593 WHIP, .298 BAA

And the road stats were helped by a few decent outings to close the year, his road ERA was over 7 for much of the year.

I hate this trade. Braves are now an old ball club with no position players in the minors to show for all these trades, just a bunch of lottery ticket pitching prospects.

Rebuild for 2017? We will be lucky to be approaching .500 by 2020

Dan Uggla's contract comes off the books this season. Acquiring prospects is great, but with all this money we have, signing a proven commodity wouldn't hurt things.

I bet Nick Markakis is regretting signing that 4 year deal last offseason.

Then again, who else would've given a mediocre corner OF on the wrong side of 30 a $40M+ deal?

Not sure if this is a good or bad move...

On one hand the best friend of a young strong pitching staff is good defense, and Simmons is the best defensive SS since ozzie smith(on pace to be even better).

On the other hand the braves offense is embarrassingly bad, is a weak hitting player going to help an offense like this??

At least with the angels, the angels don't really need his bat...

Do you ever have anything to say that isn't backhanded?

He's right though.

That was a bizarre signing that has pretty much played out like most expected.

He might be right, but I don't think he;s ever had a conversation on here with anyone that wasn't of a condescending nature.

But, Markakis was one of the few bright spots on the team this year.

I think it's fair to say Markakis probably doesn't regret doing the deal because it was likely the most lucrative by a decent margin.

And now I'm reading that ATL/BALT may get a Markakis reunion started.

This would make sense for both sides.
