Reasons for him turning it down could very. Maybe it wasn't enough money. Could have been just a tryout contract, or he may want a guaranteed spot in the top six and the Sharks were offering a two-way contract with the likelyhood he'd start in the AHL. Maybe he just still hates San Jose, who knows.

Nolan burned all his bridges here, and I doubt the Sharks would ever have him on their roster again.
