Yeah, I've seen those. Not even close to accurate.of course, some people are posting pictures of "Andy Dalton's thumb" on facebook. which are not actually pictures of Andy Dalton's thumb. (a guy with crappy tennis shoes and brown leg hair) so just go with whatever the injury report happens to be later in the week.
Dalton said he had no idea it was hurt until he went to grip a football on the sideline and he couldn't. If his thumb looked like those pictures, everyone would have know something was wrong before he ever touched a football.
Rumors are a fracture and a 4-6 week timeline.
However, with anything like this, it comes down to pain tolerance. They can't numb it since he has to feel his thumb to throw, so it'll come down to how much pain he can tolerate and how effective he can be while fighting through that.
Either way, he's done for the regular season for sure.
