Sorry kman.....
Yeah it kind off worked itself out, didn't it? Auburn looks like a team of destiny, though I don't know how they get by Florida State.

Michigan State should be in the National Championship. The best defense in the country. Meanwhile Auburn starts the season unranked and plays a lot of close games and pulls two wins out of their butts.
FSU is good, but come on they have played no one with a defensive pulse all year and yes they blew out Clemson, but Clemson is vastly overrated. FSU isn't a juggernaut. They are a damn good team, but beatable for sure

2011?

Pete Carroll had a mini-dynasty at USC when the PAC 10 was as soft a major conference as you'll find.
That's who this FSU team reminds me of right now.
You can play a weak schedule and still be the best team in the country by a considerable margin
During last night's game Brent Musburger said that according to a conversation he had with Bill Polian 8 of FSU's 11 defensive starters are NFL lock.
For all the flack that the BCS takes it almost always works itself out at the end of the year
I've tried to explain that to people for years. Being the best team in the best conference doesn't mean you are the best team in the country. The ACC wasn't a good conference when FSU was winning before and the Big East certainly couldn't be mistaken for a good conference when Miami was dominating. USC had to split a championship because the conference wasn't strong enough to get them in the BCS title game.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it worked. At this point the 2 most deserving teams are probably FSU and Auburn but I honestly don't think Auburn is one of the 2 best teams in the country. It worked as far as getting OSU the hell out of there but if it really worked then it would be FSU/Alabama IMO. I mean how many people think that in about 30 days in Pasadena, Auburn would beat Alabama? I don't.
