AMARI COOPERWR, DALLAS COWBOYS

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Clarence Hill reports the Cowboys view Amari Cooper's contract demands as "shockingly high."
Hill adds Dallas "openly recognizes the floor of his contract is $16 million annually," so Cooper's demands had to be significantly higher for the Cowboys to be shocked. Odell Beckham is currently the highest-paid receiver in the league at $18 million per year. Cooper might be looking to better that number.

Crazy. If 16 mill is the floor, and he wants more than ODB.

I actually bet he does actually more

I dont bet but I also do not think he will get more. He was a rent a player and JJ has no loyalty with him.

He still has time on his contract so there may be exceptions down the road but not this offseason.

He carried them to the playoffs, they have no wr. Wanna invest in dak. Dak has shown no wr chemistry with anyone but him. He’ll be there.

Anyone who can make sense out of NFL salaries can solve the ME crises.

New crop of WR this year. Agreed that he did help them get to playoffs but, like I am alluding to, JJ does not have loyalty to him yet. Plus we have another year. Now if he is a fantastic player for us this year things may change. I just don't see JJ bending over for him this offseason.

CLARENCE HILL JR :

"Cowboys writer since 97: Battle tested, six coaches, 3 playoff wins, countless scandals, controversies and unfulfilled expectations"

His bio suggest he has the integrity of a 1970's Brooklyn auto body shop.

He literally just made this story up.

And I remember when certain Cowboys fans talked about Philly's "cap problems".

After Dallas signs Dak, Zeke and Amari, they will be cutting defensive starters.

The Boys gave up a 1st round draft pick for him, he produced, show him the $$$$$

Yeah you have to pay him, if I were the Cowboys this kinda sucks though. You want to see him in your offense for more than half of a season to see if he produces consistently. But to your point, they gave up a 1st for him...they believe in his ability and his ability to be a #1 for this offense.

I have never been a fan of Amari but he seems to really click with Dak, he produced and he is only 24. I still don't think he is worth that amount of money but how many really are nowadays with these inflated contracts.

He produced in oakland too........and then he didn't.

Need to see more.

Yes they gave up a first. Almost got them to SB. So it was almost worthy of a first round.

I bet any team would give a way next years first if that got them to the SB.

Yes I know it didn't for the Boys but sometimes you gamble and loose.

Perhaps one of the dumbest contracts I've ever heard of. I wouldn't pay him anywhere north of $10m per before I figure out if last year was an anomaly. He's a really talented WR, but there are a lot of really talented WRs out there. If they were smart, they would've taken one in this year's draft. Instead they took a DT in the 2nd round.
