i don't know if i'd call it fairweather either. i'm watching every game gone to several, i mainly just don't want to see their logo anywhere, not because i'm not interested, but because this season is that frustrating.

if it hurts when they lose, you are a fan.
if they don't exist when they lose, you are a bandwaggoner/fairweather

am i a bandwagon fan if i pick tampa as my favorite eastern conference team? being that im a diehard wings fan and now yzerman is their owner..

anything is fair game in the other division.
and Stevie Y has certainly earned some carryover loyalty. I still wish Mattias Ohlund well.
oh, and Vinnie Lecavalier is the Michael Jordan of hockey. :p

As long as you're not one of those fans that jumps from team to team, running your mouth about how great they are, then whatever.

The only people who usually care about bandwagon fans are those whose team sucks and they need the "at least I'm a real fan" card to feel better about themselves. Either that or they're fans that take the game and everything about it waaaaaay too seriously and can't understand why others don't devote the same amount of "pride" into the sport.

If you don't wanna read about how terrible -- and I mean absolutely terrible -- the Devils are playing, then don't.

Rep! These are pretty much my exact thoughts. OP I don't think it makes you a bandwagon fan, but honestly I coudn't care less if it did. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone and neither does anyone else. Bandwagon fans don't bother me.

The way I see it is that sports are for fun. If a team is doing bad and its not fun for you to follow them as closely as you normally do, then take a step back. If you are frustrated enough to want to switch favorite teams, go ahead. The only time that bothers me is when people switch then talk trash, that can get old. Ultimately, and this may be hard to explain the some people, the more tough times you stick through with a team the more rewarding it is when they win. Man in 50 or 60 years when the Orioles are good, I am going to really be rewarded!

Sports are a diversion for our enjoyment, so do whatever makes you happy.
