Umm chicago is far from most loyal. Ticket prices are going for under face value tonight. Half the town doesn't give a shit again

Ahh yes, the Pittsburgh model.

(Fans in town still care, but didn't feel like paying)

And the Rangers fans just here at SportsHoopla all wrote their team off when down 3-1 to the Pens. Just wanted them "put out of their misery"

I am starting to question the validity of this list.

I'm just glad they got Blue Jackets fans right. Their showing in the first round was just pathetic.

Just going to say this: loyalty is seen in the worst moments, not the best. Anyone can wear the gear and puff out their chest during the Cup parade, but who's in the stands when the team is pitiful, and has started 8 different goalies? *looks to Buffalo*

And, as much as I hate saying it, Edmonton and Toronto.

And before anyone calls me out, I know Flames fans are loyal. Dash banned my original screen name "Snork_Mcgigglepants" for suggesting that Iginla was terrible in that Scotiabank commercial.

I miss the Snorkster.

They are my Eastern Conference team and historical favo(u)rite - Flames are my Western Conference team and current favo(u)rite. I feel I have been quite clear on this subject.

.

I will also point out that when they sucked we couldn't give the corporate tickets away except when they played the Devils (I took them) or Toronto (one of my IT guys was from the TO suburbs).

Bu truth be told that is true of most teams. That's why I do respect fans of teams like Buffalo that habitually disappoint yet still they support

Trying to understand how they got this list it states:

"These assessments come from 150 self-classified fans in each of the teams’ own DMAs"

If that is true they only used 150 fans from each city that state they are fans of that team who is to say they didn't get a dozen Flame fans that just happened to be in Edmonton for the day during the assessment. Then gladly accepted to take the assessment as "Oiler" fans.

What the heck is this list? What in the world could they use to figure this out? Congrats Hawks fans, you have the best team of the past five years and therefore buy a lot of merchandise and sell out games! Sabres should be #1 in the US, behind pretty much every Canadian team.

I would have put Minnesota among the top teams as well. It definitely seems to be related to the market size, of course they put Pittsburgh in there instead of LA, Dallas, Phoenix etc. so it wouldn't be too obvious.

I even have to question Chicago and Boston being in the top 5. Coming out of the 05 lockout, both Boston and Chicago were struggling in terms of attendance (and in the standings coincidentally enough) for a few seasons. I know it's easy to forget given their recent success and history. I hope and believe they were both probably just blips on the radar but I don't think it should be completely forgotten about in less than a decade. I know both fanbases were frustrated with ownership at the time, but I'd consider such frustrations a test of loyalty, not an excuse for a lack thereof. But then I realized, who the fuck really cares? These things are completely meaningless.

When it comes to it Boston was full Red Sox mode then and Chicago wasn't even getting the games on TV. Obviously this list stinks and is based merely on money. Even if I stick by my team through it all, in the lean years I'm less likely to buy merchandise or tickets.

Remember when the Flyers only won 22 games in 2006-07? That was one of the worst years ever and plenty of fans still showed up
