I'm older and wiser than you and see a stable coach and a great DC. The OC is also a fine choice. The assistants to them are former players that can relate to the players and coaches. Can it fail? Of course. Will it fail? I highly doubt it if they can get a QB. This has a better chance to succeed than any other option that was available.

Well, I really don't think we need to get into a who is older and wiser debate...although I am certain I would win at least one of those...

I can see the argument for Schwartz. He seems like a good hire. I really can't see the argument for Reich or Pederson? Sorry the trust me..I am older and wiser approach doesn't work for me. If you really were wiser you would be capable of explaining why these guys are so great. Which you really can't. You are just hoping through the proverbial rose colored glasses.

You seem to care an awful lot about the Eagles for a self professed Niners fan. Weird.

Its not the Eagles that I care about....I just get annoyed at idiocy in all its forms and to see so many people here...many of which have seemed smart and logical in the past...buying into this pile of horsepoop of a staff they are putting together is just galling. I feel compelled to point it out. Many of you are going to shell out big bucks for season tickets or spend hours watching these games, and I wouldn't feel right if I didn't point out the obvious. Most of you guys are smarter than this...its just sad.

You mean the same idiocy that made you think that tim Teblow was a legit NFL QB? Stop it...you lost all credibility with that nonsense.

So again you can't support your position so you go on the attack. If.you tried a little harder to support your position on its merits I think you would see the fallacy of it.

I think you may be bipolar and or a drunk or drug addict. Either way, you are off your rocker. Your psycho babble is all over the place, and you make no sense what so ever. You speak about players like someone that has absolutely no clue about Philadelphia Eagles football. Your arguments are weak, not compelling. It would behoove you to find another hobby.

Again you can't seem to stay on topic. This isn't about me. Let's hear you talk about the staff and their resumes and experience. If you do, you will be hard pressed to explain why you think this is a great staff.

There was no debate initiated. I was stating a fact.

So explain then please. What is your age and your qualifications for "wiseness"?

No, your reading comprehension is low. I said I was a 27 year Eagle fan.

Again, you are an idiot...but I'll play along

Doug Pederson - 19 years of NFL experience as player and now coach, 3 years as OC under Andy Reid, played in the system he will teach. Played under some of the winning est coaches in the NFL. Former Eagles have said Pederson was like an extra coach on the field, exactly why Andy Brought him from Green Bay. KC players absolutely loved and respected him. Doug played here, he knows what this fan base is like, he knows what this city is like. He has a comfort level here, he knows Lurie and Howie and company. He isn't coming into a strange environment, he is ready to work Day1, he doesn't need to be shown around. Brian Dawkins came right out and said Doug Pederson was brought to Philly to teach the offense on the field and to work with Mcnabb. He knew his own limitations as a QB, but his knowledge of the offense was second to none. It's been said by many, Dawkins, trotter, Mcnabb, Westbrook, Maclin, Avant and Travis Kelce that Pederson is a great teacher and coach, and the Eagles are lucky to have him! yeah, that carries a whole lot more weight with me than "jackass poster or media people" spewing his or her uninformed opinion. As a former QB he UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE of drafting O-lineman! Unlike the last smacked ass that was here running the show.

Jim Schwartz DC - has a strong resume as a DC....his last 3 years as DC in the NFL his defenses ranked 8th, 7th, and 4th in yards, 5th, 2nd and 4th in scoring! NOUGH FUCKIN SAID ALREADY! oh wait, let's not forget he runs a 4-3 system which is far more geared toward the current talent on defense.

Frank Reich OC- The chargers lost nearly every starter on their o-line, plus their top rb injured part of the year, not to mention he lost both starting wr's and still the Chargers had one of the top offenses in the league. He used Danny Woodhead, and made him a star! He utilized the talent of the players that were healthy, and schemed to the mismatches. The Chargers averaged 2:52 per drive, putting them at fourth in the NFL, they averaged 6.36 plays per drive, which put them at number one in the NFL, and they averaged 33.4 net yards per drive, which put them at sixth in the NFL. Everything we previously sucked at REICH was great at! Reich as a former QB that captained the greatest Comeback in NFL playoff history I might add, has a wealth of knowledge that he along with Pederson can instill in our qb's, especially if we draft a young one!

Dave Fipp Special teams - In 2013 Dave Fipp was recognized as the top Special teams coach in the NFL, The 2014 unit accounted for a franchise-best and NFL-leading seven touchdowns (three blocked punt returns, two kickoff returns and two punt returns) and a league-best six blocked kicks. The Eagles special teams unit again finished in the top five this past season.

There are your top 4 coaches....they are all more than qualified, and the BASE of a very good staff that Pederson put together.

Pederson. I can't get past his explanation for the time management in the playoff game. He sounded virtually incompetent at tactically managing a game. Do you really want that guy calling plays?

Schwartz. No real issue.

Reich. Great numbers you bring up. How do you explain that the Chargers fired him after that?

Fipp. Great coach Kelly hired. He is not allowed to leave. I give Roseman/Pederson no credit there.

Doug obviously covering up for Andy. You could tell that Reid was calling the plays.

So you're basing your Pederson thoughts on one explanation where he could have been protecting his boss or just showing he really didn't want to answer so he gave the team response.

You base your opinion on Reich because San Diego fired him? What exactly about Spanos makes you think he knows what he's doing?

Exactly why I do not typically even respond to DPD posts....he looks to argue and argue and argue with bullshit responses.... then he tries to justify his bullshit responses with bullshit stats that he tries to twist to meet his bullshit needs. It's all bullshit.

The idea that Pederson would need to protect Reid makes little sense. Ans what else has Pederson done? Both Foles and Vick did better under Kelly than they did under Pederson. The KC offense is unremarkable and we all know that Reid ran most of it anyways. Its not a record that generally gets you a promotion.

On Reich, he was also fired by Indy in 2011 and Arizona in 2012. He is a 3 time loser in the last 5 years. Its not a record that generally gets you a promotion.

Do you really think there was nay competition for either one of these guys to be hired?

The Chargers finished the season 4-12, so clearly something didn't go well for them. Under normal circumstances, a finish like that would result in a head coaching change, but the team was looking to pack up stakes and move to Los Angeles, and in an offseason where the owners' time would be monopolized by the need to negotiate with Carson, Inglewood, San Diego, the Rams, the Raiders, and the NFL Executive Committee, they simply weren't in a position to justify adding a head coaching search to their plate as well. As a result, Mike McCoy received a stay of execution, but was required to offer up Reich as a sacrificial lamb. Ownership doesn't need to put as much time into interviewing OC candidates; that's the HC's job. If the Chargers do not improve this year, and if the question of where they will end up playing is settled by the start of next offseason, McCoy will likely follow Reich out the door.
