More of the fact that he hasn't jumped shop before. So why now?

In his prime he was a WCW guy and then was out of wrestling for over a decade after his first brief WWE run.
I can't imagine there is any loyalty on either side's part, especially now that WWE is in the process of being sold. I could see him in AEW if the numbers worked.

It would be weird to do a retirement match at a company he never previously worked at

That would literally leave his only options a post merger WWE brand that's working to cut cost or an independent show ala Conrad promoting a Flair retirement PPV.

You could give him a proper retirement run like Sting is getting from AEW now.

Would an AEW fan even want Goldberg? Every interview I’ve heard from any of their wrestlers, they all speak highly of Bret. And we all know Bret is bitter as hell when it comes to Goldberg.

Probably not. But it wouldn't be the worst idea if they brought him in for a one off match at the Wembley show.

Getting a huge star like Goldberg isn't about catering to the fans already watching the show but the possibility of gaining new ones.

After Bret did that interview ripping on AEW for being trash, they may welcome Goldberg at this point lol

AEW has a major announcement planned for May 17th.

That's also upfronts (when networks announce future shows and projects) for WBD. This is probably when they are announcing the new show. Possibly also a new media rights deal

Wonder if they’ll also mention anything about upping their deal and/or putting past shows on MAX?

If they're working with HBO Max then All In would be a good event to start their partnership
My main question is if the rumors about them being interested (WB Discovery) in WWE are true, what would happen with all the AEW content? Because I seriously doubt they’d air two different companies on the same network.

Unless WWE ends up splitting their package 3 ways, I imagine whatever group doesn't have WWE would bid on AEW.

To me, it just makes no sense giving AEW a third show if you don’t plan on renewing them and want to possibly bring their competition to your channel.

Wow. A legit surprise on Dynamite tonight. Rare that you see a company be able to keep a secret without it leaking out.

There was like a dirt sheet report literally just days ago that said he was still on the WWE roster but was just injured

Agreed. The dirtsheets definitely weren't paying attention to him I suppose. They were more worried about Vince making changes to the RAW script a few nights ago instead.

Over 50,000 on just the presale. With the right card and attractions I'm wondering if they can sell this out.

*Actually re-reading it was exactly 50,000 as that was the number of tickets available in the presale
