Honestly what MLB player's age hasn't been made up?

It was different for guys pre-9/11. Now they supposedly scrutinize paperwork much more than they used to. There were so many guys from Latin American countries who just had their ages drop by 3-4 years in the old days. I'm not sure it happens/happened with American players.

Yeah it's shocking to me that this wasn't looked into earlier. But then again it's the same thing with Roids.. "who cares" mentality wins out

I could see the wildcard as an advantage, in the sense that you get to keep playing without an unnatural layoff, but you also have to use your #1 pitcher to get through that game. I think the bigger issue is in this series, is Houston has essentially been playing playoff games the past few weeks, whereas the Royals have just been waiting for the playoffs to begin.

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but it is interesting.

Cubs could very likely pull ahead of the Cardinals tonight behind arietta, too.

The other day I was considering the psychological effects of winning a wild card game - could really loosen a team up, maybe even make them feel like a "team of destiny."

I know...I know. It SHOULDN'T help. But the results speak for themselves. Both #1 seeds lost to the wild cards last year. At least #1 is going down this year(and I think the Cardinals will get bounced, too). Very surprising.

I'd love to rip the royals for going for it and cashing in their chips.

But the reality is with Gordon an impending FA and then likely not able to still afford Holland and Davis, this was likely the end of their run anyway. So getting him and Zobrist was ideal.

I would be there is something wrong with Cueto's elbow. It'll be interesting to see what he gets in FA this time around.

Agreed. Wade Davis needed to be out there to keep the game within reach. You need your best guy there. But baseball managers rarely vary from the script: closers can only work the 9th inning(and maybe the 8th inning in the playoffs).

Jeez now bases loaded no outs lol.

Shame they decided to give up 3 runs right before finally getting hot.

Seems like KC are threatening though. Not going down without a fight.

O man. Get Hosmer, Morales or Moose to put a charge into one and royals are winning
