That replay wasn't as bad as the result in G2 of NYM-LAD, but it was still an atrocious overturn. Valbuena pushed Gore off the base, but more importantly, he wasn't even tagging Gore with his glove any longer. The only contact was between forearm and leg.

Valbuena didn't push him off the bag, but you are right that he wasn't tagging him for the brief moment gore was off the base.

It looked like Valbuena falling into him (from spikes to shin) was what initiated Gore coming off the bag, but maybe not. It's irrelevant though because Valbuena wasn't tagging Gore for the brief moment he came off.

It's not even a matter of whether plays like that should be challengeable, it was an incorrect ruling, just like awarding Utley second was incorrect.
