Agreed. Wade Davis needed to be out there to keep the game within reach. You need your best guy there. But baseball managers rarely vary from the script: closers can only work the 9th inning(and maybe the 8th inning in the playoffs).

In my sim league World Series two years ago I used Chapman in the 5th. Sometimes that's when you need an important out, you know?

very happy to know there's a game 5, but feel terrible for Astro fans.

typically, there's usually no way the game 5 road team can rebound from such a loss, but if anyone can do it, maybe it's the Astros since they're so young? and facing Cueto who can be lit up?

in the Giants-Angels World Series years ago, the Giants had a 4 run lead in the 7th or 8th (forget which) in what would've been the clinching win in game 6. they choked that game in epic fashion and then barely showed up for game 7. they were all emotionally flat and simply had no energy, very surreal game.

Doesn't matter at this point. Ned has made his bed. Ryan Madson has shit in it.

The joke was Ned getting a statue next to Howser last post season, he now is the royals all time wins leader for managers.

Ned is proof that the players win games not the manager.

Today was one for the ages, my man. Congrats. That was nuts.

Don't you ever bring that up again or I will hunt you down and stab you in the eye with a shrimp fork.

It was pretty damn good until September- then it shit the bed. Was behind only the Royals in the AL for good while IIRC.

That surprises me and not just based on today.

Perez - Journeyman lefty specialist.
Fields - JAG. Why is he pitching anything other than a blowout in October?
Neshek - Gimmick release righty (that can be effective at times, but not a fan, seems unreliable).
Harris - I guess he's just having a bad series.
Sipp - Almost certainly their best relief pitcher.
Gregerson - I have a bit of a hard time taking him seriously as a closer. If you're going to be a closer without a go-to fastball, then you better have great stuff (and more than one pitch...?), which I just haven't seen.

should be a great game, Astros have a solid chance against Cueto who's been a gascan as a Royal
