When I first heard about his injury, I was pissed off.

I saw an interview with Francona the other day, and he gave me a little different perspective on the situation.

Bauer's 25 years old. He wasn't out drinking, starting fights, getting DUI's or whatever. He was playing with a toy. You'd never think that would slice his finger open, but it did. It was a freak accident. It sucks for sure, but I'm not going to begrudge the kid for it. I'm betting that he's beating himself up for blowing his chance to pitch in the postseason and letting his team down.

Don't get me wrong, I like the kid. and if this was in the middle of the summer, regular season 3 game series, no big deal, but this is slightly a different deal.

This was a learning experience for him. I'm pretty sure he's taken a ton of heat for this.

but these kids have to understand, this is a job at the end of the day. there are repercussions sometimes with what you do in your personal time. I see and understand all of your points, but they need to grow up.

Its just like when worthlessburger fell off a motorcycle early in his career in Pittsburgh.

When you are paying some kid millions of $$$$, their boss reserves the right to put stipulations on extreme/dangerous activities that could prevent them from performing. and no I don't think that a drone qualifies, but, I'd bet he has an expensive Big boy version that is pretty powerful and not a $50 POS walmart one, one that is capable of cutting the hell out of your hand.

He wasn't sky diving, he was flying a fucking drone, man. You're going to put restrictions on playing with a remote control toy?

Couple summers ago, I was cutting corn on the cob, slipped and sliced my finger really good. Seven stitches. Should they have stipulations that players can't cut their own food?

I just can't agree with you here. Freaky shit happens.

I said that drones don't necessarily qualify for risky activity........... but at the end of the day, he's injured. the good question is where do you draw the line.....

not looking to argue........

out.

You probably could guess this already, but Bauer, while well liked in Cleveland, but most are pretty pissed because of his idiotic toy fuckup. what a moron. pretty sure he got his ass reamed for that one. and he will have a modified contract clause next time his is up.....

bottom line, the team would be better with him available. but he really let his team down by this stupid injury.
They managed to win yesterday despite him going out early, winning the WS with only 2 starters might be more difficult. It's a really stupid thing to do when the stakes are so big imo. He'll have months to play with Drone's when the postseason is over, just wait.

didn't love the idea of Kluber going on short rest, and it looks like it was justified.

The Jays are in great shape to become the 2nd team to come back from 3-0.

Merritt tomorrow would probably give them at least similar to Kluber's mediocre 4 innings so far.

If it gets back to CLE you really gotta like TOR's chances of actually pulling it off.

So with the meh move to start Kluber on short rest today

He's gotta be available for game 7 now too right?

That's of course if momentum really shifts and gets us that far

Even though Cleveland is having issues with starting pitchers, I have serious doubts this goes to seven games.

Blue Jays might get another insurance run in this inning.

at the very very least- if the Merritt cant pitch well tomorrow- the Tribe has Tomlin and Kluber at home in Games 6 and 7 with an off day in between it ocming back to Cleveland for the bullpen. Cant ask for more than that. Lets hope it does not come to Kluber in a Game 7- but if it does- Kluber at home in Game 7 on full rest sounds pretty good to me.
